CounterKit (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Bower and Bloom Ltd based in the United Kingdom. We take your privacy seriously and this page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
What we collect
When you use mycounterkit.com, we may collect:
- Your email address when you submit the reservation form or subscribe to our newsletter (Counter Notes)
- Your name if you choose to share it when contacting us
- Payment information if you pay the £10 Founder’s Edition deposit. This is processed directly by Stripe and we never see or store your card details.
- Basic analytics data about how you use our website (pages visited, device type, approximate location). We use this to understand what’s working and improve the site.
We do not collect sensitive personal data like health, political views, or financial account numbers.
Why we collect it
- To send you updates about CounterKit, including product launches and the Counter Notes newsletter
- To fulfil your Founder’s Edition reservation if you’ve paid the deposit
- To respond to questions or feedback you send us
- To improve mycounterkit.com and the products we build
The legal basis we rely on
Under UK GDPR, we process your data based on:
- Your consent when you sign up to our newsletter or reserve a pack
- Legitimate interest when we analyse general website traffic to improve the service
- Contractual necessity if you’ve paid the £10 deposit and we need to deliver your order
Who we share it with
We use the following third parties to run CounterKit:
- Beehiiv (email delivery and newsletter platform)
- Stripe (payment processing, if you pay the deposit)
- Our website host (WordPress and the hosting provider that runs mycounterkit.com)
- Analytics providers we may add in future (we’ll update this page if so)
Each of these has their own privacy policies and security standards. We do not sell your data to anyone.
How long we keep it
- Email addresses and reservation details: for as long as you stay subscribed, plus a reasonable grace period for record-keeping
- Payment records: up to 7 years, as required by UK tax law
- Unsubscribed email addresses: removed from our active lists promptly, but may be kept on a suppression list to ensure we don’t email you again
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time (every email has an unsubscribe link)
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we’ve mishandled your data
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@mycounterkit.com.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies to keep the website working properly. If we add analytics or advertising cookies in future, we’ll update this page and ask for your consent where required.
